New Tunes 🎵 🎸 6.11.2026 🎤🎺

Hello, music lovers! 🎶

Yeah, it's Friday, #newtunes time! GONDOLAS, Julian Lennon, Citizen Above Suspicion, Neal Morse & The Resonance, Between Suns, NARKOSE, The Dead South, Marc Ribot Quartet

That's a collection of new music by lesser-known, and even unknown artists that’s been stuck in my head since last week.

Maybe one of them will become a global hit? The only way to find out is to jump in and listen. If a song grabs your attention, explore it. If it doesn’t connect, skip it and try something new.

🎵 🎧 🎵

GONDOLAS - Brace Brace (Live)

GONDOLAS is an English band from Liverpool, formed in 2022. A new name to me. So far, they’ve released a few singles and one EP. They play garage indie rock blending a mix of classic punk and a dark post-rock vibe. I saw them on BBC Introducing, which promotes new music. The song “Brace Brace” is a single from the EP of the same name, released in late August of this year. It’s fresh, energetic, and nostalgic, with a rock sound that stands out. I’ll be keeping an eye on them because they seem full of potential.

🎵 🎧 🎵

Julian Lennon is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and photographer. He has performed rock and pop music since 1984, with melodic, introspective songs. Early on, he was heavily influenced by his father (yes, he is the son of Beatles member John Lennon), but later developed his own distinct style. He has released seven studio albums. The song “Borrowed Time” is from his latest EP, titled “4,” released last month. It points to people’s indifference as the world falls apart.

🎵 🎧 🎵

Citizen Above Suspicion - Failure

Citizen Above Suspicion is an English trio from London, formed in 2024. A new name to me. They play a mix of krautrock, shoegaze, and new wave. The result is a loud, hypnotic, sometimes atmospheric and sensory sound. They don’t have a full-length album yet, just one single. They produce mostly in a DIY style. The song “Failure” is a teaser for their upcoming album As Above So Below, set for release in February 2027. It delivers a hypnotic groove with an intense, raw DIY edge.

🎵 🎧 🎵

Neal Morse & The Resonance – Shine Until Tomorrow

Neal Morse & The Resonance is an American rock band from Tennessee, led by Neal Morse and formed in 2024. They play classic progressive rock, featuring melody, virtuosic playing, and spiritual themes. To date, they have released one studio album. The song “Shine Until Tomorrow” is a single from their new album, River of Light, which is set to be released at the end of the month. It’s an upbeat, melodic rock track about inner light, letting go of mayhem and struggle, and overcoming sadness. Phew :)

🎵 🎧 🎵

Between Suns - My Kinda Devil

Between Suns is an English band from East London. They formed in 2017. So far, they’ve released a few singles. They’re a new name to me, and they’re perfect for this Halloween season :) They blend psychedelic rock, post-punk, progressive rock, and theatrical, cinematic elements. Their latest single, “My Kinda Devil,” was released in late September; it’s driven by a rhythmic bass line, guitar, and violin, with dramatic vocals that give it a dark lift.

🎵 🎧 🎵

NARKOSE - Ruhrgebiet

NARKOSE is a German punk band from the Ruhr region, formed in late 2023. They play raw, aggressive, and dark Deutschpunk with influences from old-school punk and hardcore. Their music is fast-paced, featuring raspy vocals, unpolished guitars, and a DIY approach. The lyrics are critical, radical, and exaggerated—dealing with frustration, hopelessness, social issues, militarization, and inequality. They have released two albums to date. The song “Ruhrgebiet” is a single from their second album, Originalton West, which was released in late October of this year. It’s classic European punk, fast and direct.

🎵 🎧 🎵

The Dead South - Butter My Lover

The Dead South is a Canadian folk band from Regina. They’ve been playing since 2012, blending traditional bluegrass, string music, and punk spirit. To date, they have released several EPs and four studio albums. They tell strange, dark stories of murder, romantic misadventures, and alcohol, accompanied by banjo, mandolin, cello, and guitar. The song “Butter My Lover” is the lead single from their upcoming album Silence, Please, which is reportedly set for release in March 2027. It sets the tone for what’s coming next.

🎵 🎧 🎵

Marc Ribot Quartet - Ghost of Sleeping

And finally, something for fans of timeless sounds. Marc Ribot is an American guitarist and composer from Newark. In the music world, he is known as an adaptable musician who moves between free jazz, improvisation, experimentation, and rock. Over his more than 40-year career, he has collaborated with Tom Waits, John Zorn, Robert Plant, and many others. He has released numerous solo and band albums. “Ghost of Sleeping” is from his latest album, Hurry Red Telephone, released in October 2026, his first instrumental album in 20 years. It’s a lyrical, melancholic piece built on electric guitar improvisation.

🎵 🎧 🎵

🎶 That should be all for today. Thanks for your attention, and enjoy your weekend with new songs!

One more thing: Anyone who follows me may have noticed that I’ve started using the service Scrobble.life/Music by @acidyo quite a bit. The service is still under development, but it’s fully integrated with the Hive blockchain—maybe I’ll create my annual playlist there, which I’ve been doing on Spotify until now. Just being able to listen to the entire song is a huge advantage. :)
