Yoko Kanno & SEATBELTS - TANK! Extended
Yoko Kanno & The Seatbelts is a music project from Tokyo, Japan, led by composer Yoko Kanno since 1998. The group was formed to compose the music for the anime series 'Cowboy Bebop' and remains active today. They have released eight studio soundtrack albums. Which is absolutely fantastic! They are known for their eclectic, genre-blending sound, led by jazz (particularly big band, hard bop, blues, and Latin jazz). TANK! Extended is a new, extended version of the opening theme for the iconic anime series Cowboy Bebop, released yesterday as a digital single. A big band jazz track featuring powerful brass, saxophone, bass, and a legendary jazzy groove.
Ministry - Dancing Alone
Ministry is an American band from Chicago, formed in 1981. They are still performing today and have released 16 studio albums and several live albums. They are known for their industrial metal sound. The song "Dancing Alone" isn't new; it dates back to the beginning of their career in 1981, but it was never released on any studio album. Apparently, the time had come to revisit their roots; they released it two weeks ago. The song is pure synth-pop from the early days of their career, with a lighter, danceable 1980s sound.
The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble - Lobby/München
The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble (often abbreviated as TKDE) is a Dutch experimental project founded in 2000 at the Utrecht School of the Arts. Until 2014, they created music for old silent films, after which they went their separate ways. In 2025, they reunited for concerts. Their sound is dark jazz, a blend of atmospheric jazz, dark ambient, trip hop, IDM, avant-garde, and experimental electronica. To date, they have released four EPs and three studio albums. The music is very cinematic, melancholic, with a strong emphasis on atmosphere - often featuring long, slow passages, reverb, brass, strings, and subtle beats. Ideal for nighttime listening or as a soundtrack to dark films. The song 'Lobby/München' is from 2006; it’s long, hypnotic, featuring a cello, trombone, and electronic elements. It starts slowly and builds tension, a typical example of their "dark jazz" style. The recording is from a concert in Berlin in August 2025 and was released a week ago.
Analog Society - Rockin' In A House
Analog Society is a young London-based pop band formed in late 2024. They’ve released only four singles and don’t have an album yet. They describe themselves as a “Timeless Pop” band. They went viral on TikTok and later on other streaming services, mainly thanks to their genre-bending mashups and covers. They’re a new name to me; they sound very fresh, energetic, and danceable. Their sound is rooted in 60s and 70s retro pop—they blend catchy melodies, anthemic choruses, funky riffs, soul vocals, and Motown horns, but with a very modern production. The song “Rockin’ In A House” is their original track, released as a single in late February of this year. It’s dynamic, melodic, and very groovy. I’ll be happy to follow their career.
Noir Addiction - Serve Me Some Crime
Another band I’m new to. Noir Addiction hail from Italy; they’ve been playing since 2024 and released a few singles and a studio album last October. Their sound leans toward alternative rock, post-punk, and goth-rock with industrial elements, aggressive rhythms, and a generally dark atmosphere. 'Serve Me Some Crime' is their latest single, a preview of their new studio album 'Pretty Things Don’t Last', set to be released in June. The sound is energetic and catchy, the lyrics sarcastic, and they emphasize a desire for chaos.
Gnome - Duke Of Disgrace
Gnome is a Belgian trio from Antwerp. They formed in 2018 and have released several singles and three albums to date. A new band for me. Their sound is a mix of stoner rock, progressive rock, stoner metal, sludge, and heavy rock, featuring heavy riffs and groovy rhythms. They’re also known for performing in funny gnome hats and having a playful, humorous approach to music. The song 'Duke Of Disgrace' is from their latest album, 'Vestiges of Verumex Visidrome', released in 2024; it was released last week as a single featuring live footage from the 2025 Bloodstock Open Air festival.
Puddle Of Mudd - Free
Puddle of Mudd is an American rock band formed in 1992 in Kansas City. To date, they have released nine albums, the latest one last year. In the early 2000s, the band achieved major mainstream success, selling over 7 million albums worldwide. Their style is post-grunge with elements of alternative and hard rock, featuring powerful, grunge-inspired riffs, melodic choruses, and dark, personal lyrics. The song 'Free' is from their latest album, 'Kiss the Machine'; the official music video was released a week ago. A solid rock riff, a powerful chorus, and a direct, motivational energy—liberation from bad influences, addiction, and one’s own inner demons.
MOONSPELL - Far From God
Moonspell is a Portuguese band from Brandoa. They formed way back in 1989 and are considered pioneers of gothic metal. Their music is characterized by heavy riffs, a melancholic atmosphere, keyboards, symphonic elements, and powerful, dramatic vocals. To date, they have released 12 studio albums. The song 'Far From God' is the title track of the album of the same name, which was released a week ago. The lyrics tell the story of a tragic vampire love affair and immediately caught the attention of fans.
🎶 That should be all for today, thanks for your attention, and enjoy your weekend with new songs!
