Ozric Tentacles - Space Platform
Ozric Tentacles is an English band from Somerset. They have been playing since 1983. The leader and sole permanent member is multi-instrumentalist Ed Wynne. They started as an underground psychedelic/festival band that initially released only cassettes, but later grew into one of the most recognizable names in European space/progressive rock. “Space Platform” is the lead single from their upcoming 17th album, Harmonic Mind, set for release in September. The track is a cosmic instrumental, featuring ethereal sounds, soaring guitar melodies, intricate rhythms, lush synths, and deep, hypnotic grooves.
EELS - Cap In Hand
Eels is an American indie rock band from Los Angeles. They’ve been playing since 1995 and have released 15 studio albums to date. They’re known for their blend of melodic indie rock, electronic music, melancholy, and humor. The song “Cap In Hand” is the first single from their 16th album, Cookie Happened, set for release this October. It’s a bittersweet, melancholic, and warm song. Tricky - I'm Yours (feat. Mitch Sanders)
A British musician, producer, singer, and rapper from Bristol who has been actively creating music since 1985 (he has collaborated with Massive Attack, among others) presents his 15th studio album, released a month ago, featuring the song “I’m Yours.” The song has a more rock-oriented sound than usual, featuring distorted guitars and dark electronic elements.
Ghost - IT'S A SIN - [UnOfficial Music Video 90s VHS]
Ghost is a Swedish metal rock band from Linköping. They have been playing since 2006 and have released six studio albums to date. Their sound is a mix of hard rock and heavy metal—very melodic and catchy, with plenty of guitar riffs, choruses, and theatrical elements. “It's a Sin” is a cover of the classic 1987 synth-pop hit by the Pet Shop Boys. Ghost has transformed it into a heavier, rock-metal version with strong guitars, choruses, and dramatic vocals.
Soft Cell x JG Thirlwell - Ghost Rider - JG Thirlwell Accelerator Remix
The song “Ghost Rider” is a classic and underground hit by the New York duo Suicide from 1977 - minimalist, dark electro-punk. Soft Cell (synth-pop, known for their global hit “Tainted Love”) performed it in the early ’80s alongside JG Thirlwell, an Australian multi-instrumentalist, producer, and composer from Melbourne. The “Accelerator Remix” is the latest, wildest, fastest, and most industrial version. Released seven days ago, it’s packed with electro-punk energy and heavy beats—a blend of Soft Cell’s dark-synth elegance and Thirlwell’s industrial brutality.
The Rat Utopia Experiment - Lobotomize Me
The Rat Utopia Experiment (often abbreviated as T.R.U.E.) is a young American band from Tacoma. They formed in 2022. To date, they have released several singles and one studio album. They describe themselves as an “alternative circus act” and a “feminist garbage slop band.” They play a mix of riot grrrl, noise rock, punk, grunge, and elements of ’60s music. On stage, they’re very energetic, chaotic, and charismatic. They’re a new band to me; I stumbled upon them last week through this song. “Lobotomize” is their new single, released a month ago. The song is a fierce feminist punk anthem that addresses how men infantilize women, strip them of their autonomy, view them as objects, and would prefer to “lobotomize” them so they’d be “pretty and dumb.” Of course, I can’t agree with that—well, at least in the Western society where I live, things aren’t quite like that. It’s definitely a powerful message; I suggest they perform in places where these issues are worse or even enshrined in law. There are still a few such places on the planet...
Gatta Morta - Black Hall
Gatta Morta is a new supergroup from the American underground rock/noise/sludge scene. The band consists of musicians from the Melvins (from Washington) and the Butthole Surfers (from Texas). They’ve been together for six months, and a week ago they released their first EP, Burn Witch Burn, on Amphetamine Reptile Records. They describe their music as “asymmetrical psychedelic warfare in the name of romance” and “solidly weird rock music.” The song “Black Hall” is the lead single from the EP. It’s a bruising, heavy, riff-driven track with psychedelic transitions that sounds like a ’90s sludge classic but with a fresh twist.
Fujiya & Miyagi - Lowest Common Denominator
Fujiya & Miyagi is an English band from Brighton. They have been active since 2000. They started as a duo and later expanded into a full band. To date, they have released nine studio albums. Their sound blends mixed rhythms, krautrock (Neu!, Can), nu-disco, electronica, post-punk, dance, hypnotic grooves, and dance energy. The song “Lowest Common Denominator” is a single from their new, 10th album, New Shiny Object, which is set to be released in late October. Addictive and danceable.
