Looking Forward to Fall, Which Is Already Here
Yes, that’s true, but it’s not showing up outside as it usually does. At least not here where we are. And since I haven’t posted a photo essay in a while, here are a few photos that suggest autumn has arrived and that nature, with its changing seasons, goes about its business regardless of our wishes, expectations, and thoughts.
A short photo blog with more pictures than words.

When I was younger, I spent more time wandering through the woods in the fall, enjoying the golden, yellow, and brown colors. Now, though, I spend more time in the fields, the orchard, and the garden, and I take walks in the park.
Pumpkins are such a typical symbol of fall; these are from my mother—her harvest, which we helped her gather.

The apple tree is (was) full of apples; we picked most of them, and I’ll be pressing the juice soon.

Tomatoes in the fall—they’re dying off. And mushrooms. All from the garden.

Grapes that I probably should have picked a week or two earlier. But I picked them today.

And finally, Mimi, who was observing everything. A genuine photo model :)
