Beer Tasting: Tektonik's Mitzi and Falter Pichelsteiner Festbier

Hello, beer lovers! 🍻

How are you? Autumn is progressing nicely here, it's getting colder and colder and the weather forecasters are already predicting the first snowflakes in the valleys next week. Outside, there is less and less going on, but in some places, I have already seen that they are preparing lights for the Christmas and New Year celebrations. It seems a bit early, but people have to do something.

For me, it's once again a day where I can have a beer or two without a guilty conscience, thanks to #beersaturday which is already 334, I think the oldest challenge here on Hive.

There are two bottles in the fridge, one German Festbier and one Slovenian Session IPA, which I'll be happy to try, and if anyone else comments, so much the better! :) First the one with less alcohol.

🍻 😎 🍻

Tektonik's Mitzi Session IPA

Brewed by Tektonik Craft Brewery - Tovarna Pivovarna, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.5% ABV, IBU 30. It's Session IPA style, hop-dominant beer, with American or New World hops, fruity and lower in alcohol than standard IPA's.

What do the Master Brewers say?

It can hardly be said to be abundant, but it is full-bodied and extremely aromatic, which is to be expected for this style of beer. MITZI Session IPA is a light, slightly cloudy, milky-citric colour that delights with delicate flavours of malt, tropical fruit, sweet citrus and apricot, with some peppery spiciness and pine needles in the background. The aromas are quite similar, with tropical fruits again standing out, complemented nicely by the scents of ripe orange and mandarin. The bitterness is moderate and pleasant and the low alcohol level (4,5 %) ensures that at least one more can be drunk. Malted barley: Pale Ale, Vienna, Caramel Pils Oat malt: Golden Naked Oats Hops: Idaho 7, El Dorado, Simcoe, Ekuanot

Ugh, so many ingredients in one bottle! These guys are not joking. Maybe they are exaggerating? I got it from my local SPAR store, but it's available everywhere.

The beer is cloudy yellow in color, the head is average. It smells of tropical fruits. It goes down the throat smoothly, the bitterness of the hops immediately takes over, but not too much, and the flavors of tropical fruit, I recognize mango, orange, grapefruit, and citrus. The bitterness and citrus flavors linger in the aftertaste for some time.

Fresh, juicy, and fruity, a very tasty beer for me. Very harmonious ingredients, I can't think of any comments at all. I would like to drink another one right away! It's available everywhere so it's no problem to have some in the fridge.

🍻 😎 🍻

Memes today? At first, I was thinking of not posting this at all because it's very close to the truth, haha ...

But, believe it or not, it's all in fun :)

🍻 😎 🍻

Falter Pichelsteiner Festbier

Brewed by Privatbrauerei J.B. Falter, Regen, Bavaria, Germany. Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.9% ABV, IBU N/A. It's MΓ€rzen or Festbier style, malty German lager with rich and bready malt flavor and restrained bitterness. Ussually brewed for special occasions like Oktoberfest or some other festivals.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Savour the unmistakable Falter Pichelsteiner festival beer! Brewed with love for the art of brewing according to an old family recipe. Specially brewed for the Pichelsteinerfest, drinkable, unique, full-bodied, gently hopped, soft, and flavorsome with a natural freshness, this beer is full of joie de vivre.

A nice description. This is my last bottle from the Kale Beer-Box collection of festival beers.

The beer is clear yellow in color, the head is solid and creamy. It smells malty. It goes down the throat smoothly, and in the mouth, I taste first the maltiness and sweetness, the bread, the flour, the honey, and the herbs, with a discreet and slightly hot hop bitterness in the background.

The slightly biting bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for some time.

Fresh and tasty beer. It is completely different from the previous beer, but it is also very well-balanced, with no pronounced exaggeration of flavors and aromas. I'd have liked to have it in the fridge as an example of a Festbier but unfortunately, it's not available and this will be the only record left of it.

🍻 😎 🍻

And what am I listening to as I write this and taste the beers? Yesterday I didn't post this week's #newtunes because I spent three days making a New Tunes 2023 playlist, which contains all, well most, of the 340 new songs by various well-known and lesser-known musicians that I've released this year. Now I'm moving on. Something new for me again. I don't know this band (yet) but I find them interesting, with a lot of energy, judging by their sound they are drawn to Fugazi...

I like the second beer Falter. But do you know why? It's because of it's contents involving honey. Hope you should know the health benefits of honey naa. It's beyond measure.

Well, your autumn gets colder and colder, our gets snowy :) And we sometimes have to cross the snowy woods to get to a nice microbrewery ;) It's more fun this way, though.
