Beer Tasting 🍺 Babaroga 🍻 Lagerica
Hello, beer lovers! 🍻
How are you doing? I'm in my own little world, on an island, I'm in my samsara, drinking a cold beer and listening to music. It's a bit cloudy - it rained this morning - but now it's perfect. 30 degrees. And it'll stay this way all day. Me too :)

There are two beers in front of me, both Croatian. This is my last stash - I’ll have to go hunting for more beer again :) They’ve been in the fridge for a couple of days now. I’ve been saving them for today, for 471 #beersaturday. I’ll happily empty them and share the experience with you. Of course, this doesn’t mean these are the only beers for today :)
Babaroga Hoppy Lager

Brewed by The Garden Brewery, Zagreb, Croatria, summer series brewed for SPAR Croatia. Can, 440 ml, alcohol 4.8% ABV, IBU 26. Hoppy lager style.
What do the Master Brewers say?
It's IPL - India Pale Lager or Hoppy lager, with sweet notes of mango and orange. A refreshing combination of a crisp lager and an aromatic IPA-style beer, perfect for summer and a wide audience.
As I read, the beer’s name was inspired by a song by the band LET3; I found it, and it will play at the end of this post.

The beer is cloudy yellow, and the head is average. It has no particular aroma other than that of fresh malt. It goes down smoothly; at first, I taste a pleasant bitterness, which then gives way to the slight sweetness of the malt; I also detect hints of tropical fruit - probably mango - but I didn’t notice any citrus notes. All of this fades quickly in the aftertaste.

A drinkable and refreshing beer! A solid, “entry-level” craft lager for those who want something more aromatic than a regular lager, but without too much complexity or bitterness. It’s not top-notch, but it’s more than good enough for a supermarket. It’s not available locally here, but you can find it in Croatian SPAR stores.

Let’s move on! Another lager is waiting!
Lagerica Munich Helles Lager

Brewed by Pulfer Brewery, Zagreb, Croatia. Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.5% ABV, IBU 17. Munich helles style lager.
What do the Master Brewers say?
To brew proper good lager takes years of experience, a lot of knowledge, and passion for perfection. It took us some time to achieve all those things, but we made it! Lagerica is finally here for you guys. Traditional German hops gave this Munich helles lager its true German character. Easygoing, smooth, and delicious. Enjoy!

The beer is yellow, with a solid head that dissipates quickly. It has no aroma. It goes down smoothly; in my mouth, I taste a slight sweetness from the malt, followed by a mild bitterness and hints of herbs. A slight bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for a while.

A refreshing beer to quench your thirst! A very solid and authentic Helles—one of the better craft lagers, brewed in the classic style: clean, smooth, and balanced, better than most industrial lagers. Milder, sweeter, and less bitter than the previous beer. It’s available in most stores in Slovenia and Croatia. If I had to compare them, both beers are refreshing to me, but I find Babaroga more flavorful because it’s more modern and has a more aromatic, tropical, and “hoppy” character.
And what am I listening to as I write this and taste beer? Usually something from Friday's #newtunes, but now I'm listening to LET3, because of inspiration for the name of the first beer.
If you ask me, the beer is much better than this song, haha, incomparable things. I know the band very well, having recorded them many times when they were a small, unknown band. They are very provocative, and they also performed at Eurovision a few years ago. But this song and video are just awful... LET3 have always been too crazy for a normal audience, and once they got some money, they started acting all high and mighty...but, but, you'll decide ;)
